Yoga

“Yoga is bringing suppleness in body, calmness in mind, kindness in heart and awareness in life.” ~Amit Ray

I teach yoga classes, workshops, and retreats on the Central Coast of California.

In all my classes, I aspire to help unshackle your creativity, feel your body as an ally, and cultivate self-intimacy.

I teach at Smiling Dog Yoga and SLO Yoga Center  where you can practice with me 3 days a week: Monday, Friday, and Sunday.

I also offer PRIVATE Prose and Poses sessions in the comfort of your home. Drawing inspiration from yoga, somatic movement, Qoya, journaling, poetry, oracle cards, pranayama, meditation, and visualization, we can create the perfect practice JUST for YOU. Contact me about designing the best session(s) to help you FEEL the way you WANT to FEEL.

Strong/Sweet Vinyasa - M 5:30-6:45pm (starting 3/6)  & Sun 11-12:30pm, Smiling Dog Yoga

My sweet (& spicy) vinyasa classes link breath and movement in a series of flowing sequences to build heat, stamina, strength, and grace in the body, while promoting mental inspiration and calm. Expect to explore Sun Salutations, sequences of standing and seated poses, including arm balances, twists, core work, backbends, and inversions. Develop your pranayama and meditation practice. My classes are often thematic, utilizing myth, metaphor, chakras, or narrative for greater soul growth and expansion. Think sweaty and spiritual.

All-Levels Vinyasa - F 6:00-7:15pm, SLO Yoga Center

Suitable for all levels but those new to yoga should start with Vinyasa Level 1.
As you mindfully integrate movement and breath, this Vinyasa class is aimed at the seasoned beginner who has Level 1 experience and intermediate practitioners who are ready to expand their yoga practice.  These classes begin to encourage practitioners to explore getting upside-down and may incorporate some arm balances and deeper backbends. We recommend that students seeking to take these classes feel confident, safe, and strong throughout classic sun salutations. Again, sweaty-spiritual.

Foundations - F 9-10:15am (*TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED)

This yoga class establishes the alignment foundation for a sustainable yoga practice. Expect to explore basic shapes as well as key pose actions for standing and seated poses, including balance, twists, core work, and mild inversions, as well as pranayama and seated meditation. In this class, I seek to give you the tools you need for more vigorous, flowing vinyasa classes.

Namaste,
Leslie
